The need for regenerative leadership
The current state of social and ecological crises demands a fundamental shift in leadership models around the world, even in the social entrepreneurship sphere. Our world needs more creativity and innovation than ever. Social entrepreneurs may hold the key for many of those challenges, they are often those who create and innovate with solutions to face our current social and ecological crisis, however, according to a study by the University of Berkeley shows that 72% of entrepreneurs suffer from mental health problems, 6 of 10 entrepreneurs in Latin America. Unfortunately, this is an underestimated issue in our society. Especially because the environment that surrounds entrepreneurs is very goal oriented, there is a competence for scarce resources, and a culture of awards and recognition that make this problem invisible. If there are many possible solutions to tackle our current social and ecological crisis that come from social entrepreneurs, it becomes important to prioritize wellbeing strategies and mental health. According to Endeavor, it could increase up to 30% productivity and a better working environment, beside all the co-benefits in society of a healthy leader.
This Hub is looking for transforming leadership models and referents in social entrepreneurship, with the ultimate goal of enabling leaders to heal themselves and, in turn, contribute to healing the social and ecological fabric of our world. Also to create new models and cultures around the social entrepreneur sphere to inspire future entrepreneurs. It envisions a transformative journey, wherein personal healing becomes a catalyst for healing societal and ecological challenges. By fostering self-awareness, well-being, connection to nature and authentic leadership, we can create a ripple effect that ultimately contributes to the restoration and renewal of our interconnected world.
